To store Santa Luzia's products safely, you have to be careful in methods and processes. Believe me: even today, there are those who believe that stocking is just allocating a place to store the products. Storage is fundamental in the logistical process and handling of packaging, for this reason, it needs to be dynamic and efficient to locate, move and protect the products.
With that in mind, we have put together 8 tips for you to store your goods according to our factory recommendations. Check them out:
1st TIP – Space!
It is important that the storage space is previously analyzed and chosen, always thinking about the best stock management. Pay special attention to products with higher turnover, weight and package dimensions. Remember that strategically thinking about the position of each item is what will streamline the processes and ensure that everything stays in its place, following a pre-defined organization according to the turnover/demand of products.
2nd TIP – Conference!
Upon receiving Santa Luzia products, we recommend visual inspection of all packaging and checking the volumes, in the presence of the shipping company. If there is a divergence in the integrity of the packaging, or in the quantities measured between invoice and physical quantities, contact Santa Luzia's logistics department for guidance. Important: record the non-compliance on the back of the invoice, always notifying the shipping company of any irregularities.
3rd TIP – Shelves, pallets or supports.
We recommend the use of pallets, shelves or supports that help organize and preserve packaging. If the products are flush with the floor, in the horizontal direction, they must be on pallets, with their base supported, avoiding warping of the volume and also the contact of the packages with the soil moisture. In the form of shelves, we suggest a prior assessment of the weight supported by the structure. It is also necessary to check whether the base accommodates the entire set of volumes in a distributed manner, preventing support points from marking the packages, in addition to other damage that may cause the products.
4th TIP – Maximum stacking of volumes/boxes.
For wall baseboards, door casings, crowns and chair rail/ trims, we suggest stacking a maximum of 10 boxes - with the tying technique to prevent the stack from collapsing. Horizontally, the stack can extend to the customer's need. See some examples below:
5th TIP – Never do!
Products such as glues, pastes, coverings or appliques, which are delivered on pallets, cannot be stacked, as excessive weight can damage the products. Never place other products on top of those already above the pallets, as being overweight can also damage packaging and products. Never store volumes or products such as wall baseboards, door casings, crowns and chair rail/ trims vertically without support on its base, as this can bend the bars. See some examples below:
6th TIP – Information on packaging, manuals and product warranty terms.
Recommendations and guidelines are printed on labels, boxes/packaging, manuals and are in videos available on our website. The package identification, located on the side flaps, contain information such as customer, description, quantities, lots and the packing slip number. We suggest that at least one side of the box is visible for any conferences. Likewise, other important information is printed throughout the entire box, which should also be noted. Other information, such as warranty terms and installation manuals, is usually inside the packaging. They can also be found on our website (click here), as well as in all our videos (click here).
7th TIP – Create inventory check routines.
- In order to guarantee the accuracy of the information on what is in your stock, check the products in stock with a pre-determined frequency. Control the entry and exit of higher turnover products. The lack of these products in stock is detrimental to business, undermining consumer confidence. By anticipating solutions, you avoid unpleasant surprises at the time of sale.
8th TIP – Storage of loose products on shelves and pallet racks.
For a better presentation and organization of Santa Luzia products out of the box, it is suggested to display them through shelves and pallet racks. This way, they accommodate safely and facilitate the correct handling of all products.
