Doubts when choosing the best way to install polystyrene profiles?

Installing polystyrene mouldings (wall baseboard, door casings, chair rails/ trims, wainscots and crowns), such as those from Santa Luzia is not as complicated as it may seem. You just need to pay a little attention when choosing the ideal products for the installation before getting down to business. To avoid mistakes, we have created some tips that will help in the process of fixing the products. The tips will be about Santa Luzia Glue, Super Adhesive, T Bracket, Double-Sided Tape , Sealant and Premium Caulk. In addition, we have selected other links important for knowledge that will avoid unpleasant surprises when storing or painting the products.

For the installation of Polystyrene Mouldings, we recommend using the following accessories:

Important: For apartments that do not accept holes in the walls, we suggest using the Santa Luzia Double-Sided Tape instead of the Santa Luzia T Brackets.
Installation on other surfaces: It is recommended to use Santa Luzia Super Adhesive plus Santa Luzia Double-Sided Tape.

Average Yield of Accessories

Santa Luzia glue

Excellent adhesion on masonry walls and Santa Luzia polystyrene mouldings. Internal use only!

Tube with 14 oz can yield up to three 8 ft long bars, totaling 24 linear feet for wall baseboards or door casings 2 3/4" to 5 7/8" tall;

6 lbs tubes yield approximately 22 bars “177 linear feet” for wall baseboards or door casings of 2 3/4" to 5 7/8" tall;

2 lbs and 11 lbs glue pots yield approximately 20 to 22 linear feetper lbs. Applied with spatula for wall baseboards or door casings from 2 3/4"to 5 7/8" tall;

For 7 7/8" and 9 13/16" tall mouldings, we suggest applying 4 “squiggley” lines of Santa Luzia Glue that will have an average yield of 12 feet per tube.

Glue pots – 2 or 11 lbs, the average yield per kg is 10 to 12 feet per lbs for mouldings of 7 7/8"to 9 13/16" , applied with a spatula.

Attention: For WATERPROOF walls, we recommend using the Santa Luzia Super Adhesive instead of the Santa Luzia Glue!

Santa Luzia T Bracket: Ideal for initial anchoring of products indoors. 6 Santa Luzia T Brackets per 8 feet bar is recommended. The recommended distance between the brackets is 15 ³/₄ in the longitudinal direction of the bar. There are packages with 30, 50 and 100 units.

Santa Luzia Double-Sided Tape: Ideal for initial anchorage of Santa Luzia products in indoor environments. The average yield of tape per bar is 14 11/64" for pieces of tape of up to 1 3/16" long, every 15 3/4", in the longitudinal direction of the bar. Important: We recommend using six pieces of tape at the top and six pieces at the bottom of wall baseboard or door casings with a width greater than 2". Available in 6 and 32 feet rolls.

Santa Luzia Super Adhesive: has excellent adhesion to common glass, aluminum, tile, ceramic, fiberglass, MDF, Santa Luzia polystyrene wall baseboards and Santa Luzia polyurethane wall coverings. Recommended for indoor and outdoor areas. Once cured, it can be painted. Its average tube yield is three 8 feet long bars totaling 24 linear feet for mouldings from 2 3/4" to 5 7/8" tall.

For 7 7/8" and 9 13/16" tall mouldings, we suggest the application with 4 “squiggley” lines of Santa Luzia Super Adhesive that will have an average yield of 12 feet per tube.

Santa Luzia White Premium Caulk for final finishing.

Average yield of Santa Luzia Premium Caulk“3.14 oz“ is up to 100 linear feet for crack of up to 1/16".

Average yield of Santa Luzia Premium Caulk“12 oz“ is up to 370 linear feet linear for a crack of up to 1/16".

Santa Luzia Sealant: Ideal for finishing on Santa Luzia wall baseboards, chair rails/ trims, crowns and door casings. Also suggested for sealing around window frames, windows, other wall baseboards, door casings and furniture finishes. Adheres to wood, MDF, plywood, concrete, plaster, drywall, stone and masonry. Note: The average performance of the Santa Luzia Sealant is up to 165 linear feet for a gap of up to 5/64".

Attention: The yields mentioned above may decrease according to the imperfection or the linearity of the surface to be installed.
